There are several options for beating the heat in a San Carlos pool. For a small fee, you can spend the day at one of several refreshing outdoor pools. Note that Maukaa Restaurant has a small pool that is free to diners. And the San Carlos Plaza Hotel has recently re-opened. In the past, they have had a Day Pass option for pool access. This is not available yet at the time of writing.
Marinaterra Beach Club
Location: Marinaterra’s Beach Club is located on the water, at the end of the road Blvd. S. Carlos. The pool is right off the beach.
Cost: 150 pesos for a day use pass for adults, and 100 pesos for a child under 12. Free for guests of Marinaterra Hotel.
Hours: every day; from 9am – 7pm
Amenities: restrooms, lounge chairs, shaded areas, pool with a kids area and adult area plus hot tub beach front, snack bar to order your favorite drinks and snacks while you rest and contemplate the view of the Sea of Cortez. Paddle boats are for rent at the beach and occasionally kayaks too. |
El Mar Restaurant
Location: beside El Mar restaurant, from the main street (Tetakawi Blvd.) towards La Posada hotel and beach.
Cost: 50 pesos per day
Hours: every day from 8am – 8pm. Buy your pass from any of the servers in the restaurant.
Amenities: restrooms, tables, chairs, umbrellas, lounge chairs, restaurant. Bring your own towels. Available for parties. Nice view of the Sea of Cortez and the Posada beach. |
Athleticlub San Carlos
Location: the Athleticlub San Carlos is located on Avenida 3.
Cost: 100 pesos for a day use pass, which allows access to the pool and all the gym facilities except for Pilates Reformer class. Many longer term options too.
Hours: Monday to Friday: 6am – 9pm; Saturday: 8am – 3pm; Closed Sunday.
Amenities: restrooms; tables, chairs, lounge chairs, snack bar. There is a shallow area for children. Several lounge chairs around the pool. The day use pass gives you entrance to the whole club, so before taking a dip, you can join an exercise class and use the weight room. Check the pool schedule, as some classes such as water aerobics may be in session. Bring your own towel. Available for parties. |
Best Western Plus Sawari Hotel
Location: the Best Western Plus Sawari Hotel is located on the main street Tetakawi Blvd, across from the Santo Valle supermarket.
Cost: 300 pesos for a day use pass for adults and children. 150 pesos of the cost to go towards food and drink credit. Free for guests of Sawari Hotel.
Hours: every day; from 9am – 7pm.
Amenities: restrooms, lounge chairs, shaded areas, outdoor restaurant with drinks, snacks, and meals. |
Club House at the Golf Course
Location: on Paseo de los Yaquis.
Cost: 100 pesos per day for adults and 80 for kids under 18. Buy your pass from any of the servers at the La Palapa restaurant.
Hours: every day, from 11am to 7pm.
Amenities: restrooms, pool-side bar and restaurant, lounge chairs. Nice view of golf course and out to sea. You don’t have to be a member to buy a day pass or to eat at the restaurant. Bring your own cooler at no extra cost. |
Los Jitos Hotel & Suites
Location: Los Jitos Hotel & Suites is located near the San Carlos Country Club, along the main street Tetakawi Blvd.
Cost: 150 pesos for a day use pass for adults and children. Free for guests of Los Jitos Hotel.
Hours: Day Pass available every day EXCEPT Friday and Saturday, from 9am – 10pm.
