Stay in San Carlos or Guaymas? San Carlos and Guaymas are a 15 minute drive from each other. Both have excellent hotels, restaurants and things to do. Regardless of where you stay, be sure to visit the other town. San Carlos is spread out along several beautiful beaches, with two first class marinas and an 18 hole golf course. It’s more upscale and polished than Guaymas. Guaymas is a fishing port. It has a beautiful malecón, quaint plaza with church, and a lively main street. Many of the accommodation options available in Guaymas are more budget friendly, particularly for long term stays.
