The Annual General Meeting of Rescate de San Carlos was held on February 17, 2016, at 10:00am at the Country Club. In addition to board member elections, Rescate board members and gold card members in attendance heard reports from operations, the treasurer, human resources, the gold card sales coordinator and the auxiliary. Here are some of the highlights of Rescate’s busy and successful year:
Patients treated: 2,234 – up 17% from 2014
Ambulance runs: 582 – up 9% from 2014
Budget balanced at year end but will need to be increased this year to support increased expenses
EMT and supervisor salaries have been raised to be more fair, equitable and competitive
Job descriptions and performance measures for staff are being developed and implemented
Current gold card memberships total 288 which, while the best in a decade, is a very small percentage of the population
The new building has been completed and, thanks to generous private donations, will be paved after the Melodrama concludes
New fund raising activities have been added to the usual roster, such as the highly successful Evening in Venice and the more recent fun Monte Carlo Night
Club Deportivo hosted a very well attended Spaghetti Dinner to support Rescate and will partner with us again in the future
The Thrift Store continues to thrive and has relocated into the renovated original Rescate building
The Rescate Board of Directors and the Auxiliary extended a warm thanks to everyone who supported Rescate this year through volunteer efforts, donations, gold card memberships and attendance at fund raising events. A very special “thank you” went out to Shots Bar, Club & Restaurant who donate 15% of the proceeds from their “Rescate Ribs” dinners every Thursday!
Rescate de San Carlos receives no government funding and operates entirely on donations and fundraising efforts. Please consider supporting your Rescate through a gold card membership or by volunteering your time. The Rescate Auxiliary meets on the first and third Friday of every month at 8:30am in the Rotary room at the Country Club. Everyone is invited to attend – new members and fresh ideas are always welcome!
