For years we’ve said, “Rescate is there for YOU”! And that has certainly been true over the 37 years since Dr. Don transported ill or injured people from San Carlos to Guaymas in the bed of his pickup truck. In 2014 the annual count of people treated at the Rescate infirmary reached 1,912. Also, Rescate’s ambulances made 587 runs to medical facilities. Every year the numbers grow…. and grow… and Rescate is there.
Now it’s time for us – all of us – to be there for Rescate. Rescate has definitely outgrown its current facility purchased years ago from money raised through fundraisers from local people and businesses. The little converted house that it is in is stretched to the limit.
Your Rescate Board of Directors has developed a plan which will serve San Carlos for many years to come. Using funds on hand, augmented by gifts from local individuals and businesses, we can develop a purpose-built facility on the land we already own, plus convert our current building for other uses.
The plan, developed by interested Rescate individuals, including medical personnel, and approved by the Rescate A.C. Board of Directors, is to construct a 26’ x 60’ building on the west side of the current location, leaving present ambulance entrance and parking in place. We need your donations (tax deductible for U.S. citizens); to bring this much needed facility to fruition. Donations can be made at Rescate’s office, or to any of the Board members listed here.
Donations may also be made by pledge – click here to open the pledge form.
